Foliar spray with 0.3 percent Mancozeb four times at an interval of 10 days controls the disease.
Sclerotium wilt or rot
Collection and destroy the affected plant material and roots. Seed treatment with Captan or Carboxin 3g/kg and drenching the base of the plant with Carbendazim 1g/lit
Downy mildew
Treat with Metalaxyl at the rate of 3 g per kg
Sunflower mosaic virus (SMV)
Mainly transmitted through insects and control the pests

Spray Mancozeb 1-2 g/ lit of water.
Cercospora leaf spot
Spray along with neem oil 2ml per liter of water with copper oxychloride 2g per liter of water or Mancozeb g/ lit of water
Rhizoctonia root rot
Rhizoctonia root rots major diseases during the early stage of the seedling can be controlled by spot drenching with Carbendazim at 1 g/lit or bevistin 1-2 g /lit.
